Since March 10, 2016, we’ve convened a weekly current affairs roundtable hosted by MEDIA INDIGENA’s own Rick Harp, a 20-year veteran of broadcasting including APTN (Contact) and CBC Radio (Edmonton AM). Each week, guests from the worlds of activism, arts, academia and beyond join Rick for lively, insightful conversation that goes beyond the headlines to get at what matters most to Indigenous peoples.

Help grow the show

As a listener-funded program, we rely on the monthly support of our audience to ensure MEDIA INDIGENA’s sustainability and independence. We do so through our Patreon page. Patreon is an online crowdfunding platform that helps creators “make a living from their passion and hard work” by enabling them to receive recurring contributions from their fans.

patreonWhat’s nice about Patreon is how it allows creators to set up milestones or goals for their campaigns: in our case, critical stages of growth for our podcast. Since we started, we’ve already hit our first milestone of $200/month, which saw us add a second topic to the show! Check out our Patreon for the rest of the milestones.

As someone who values independent Indigenous media, won’t you consider pledging today? Your dollars will make a difference, and all pledge levels are appreciated. (Many Patreon-funded projects are supported at the level of $1/month: all those pledges add up!) Check out our complete list of milestones to see how our podcast becomes bigger and better the more people invest in our efforts. There are also rewards for those who choose to pledge at higher levels. Learn more about both on our Patreon. For a step-by-step walk-through of how to pledge, we’ve put together this short video.
